Hi,
my name is Gary Stein. Thanks Gazette, for an opportunity to introduce
my candidacy. I'm Frank LoBiondo's bare bones, non party backed--
Democratic opponent --plain and simple. If you'd like to know the details
why I'm bothering when so many have failed, please visit my web site.
Veterans especially, please visit the page called, "Tale Of The Tape."
Notice what's first, immediately after I give our respective ages. For non-veterans, don't bother, it's about the Troop Surge in Iraq.
Anyway,
here's an idea, a reason to vote for me-- and it's something btw, I haven't
posted on a very thorough web site- although I've thought about this
idea many times. If I'm elected, I propose having the largest
Congressional staff allowed by law- working for YOU. What politician
would celebrate spending tax payer money that way? I would, it makes sense! Frank
likes to brag he has one of the smallest staffs. He says he returns
money to the Treasury. I believe him. Perhaps it offsets some of the
wasteful pork he brings to the district? Earmarks are nothing more, nothing less, then the good old boy Washington-- I wash your back if you wash
mine --we can no longer afford. It's one reason the Tea Party was born.
Mr. LoBiondo seeks out earmarks, although he does steer clear of truly
ridiculous ones. Voters somewhere else, might challenge the assertion
that our earmarks are more worthy than theirs. Constituent problems are
universal. I'd focus on that.
My large staff-- a group I'll have
direct control over --won't be busy scheduling fund raisers either,
worrying about the next election (the way his staff does) because I
didn't raise any money this election, and I wouldn't raise a nickel in
2012. This is all contingent on changing many minds this year, and you
voting for me.
Continuing the thought. The idea of a large
staff-- and one staffer will help with my travel schedule (beginning 12
months after I'm sworn in) because if I'm elected --the fact I pulled off
the impossible will encourage others, somewhere, maybe even here --to
also consider taking on entrenched incumbents in 2012. I'll campaign for
them, and still take on challengers here, if you elect me in 2010.
Finally,
most importantly, my large staff will be local, near you, their master,
ready to work on unsnaggling any problems you have with bureaucratic
bungling in the public.........and private sector! A large staff also means I
created several jobs out of thin air for several locals, working and living, right here in the district. Frank's chosen to pass on that- 16 years running. Frank has a
reputation for good constituent services. That's good P.R. on his
part. My staffer would work just as hard, if not harder, and there’d be
several more staffers besides. Please, cast your vote carefully. Thank-you.
