............Two vehicles for sale on E-Bay, this and a 1964 Pick Up.  Why?  I'm running for Congress and I'm not asking for any contributions, and I'm not wealthy.  Not complaining either, just thought you'd like to know.   What about the Trans Am?  I bought the car around 2001-2002.  It had a bad engine.  It wasn't even for sale, I convinced the original owner to sell it.  I used to do things like that- knock on the doors of complete strangers.  On June 23, 2005, I read this classified ad in our local paper, "82 Chevy- 305ho, R700, less than 2k mi. since new.  $375 OBO.  Call (609) 8o4-....  I jumped on it, and I saved the ad obviously.  An insurance adjuster had the engine and trans pulled on a wreck over 20 years earlier, and he kept the drive train all that time.  My friend, an excellent mechanic, installed the engine and he kept the trans for himself.

As you can see, I like to talk a lot these days, I'll make a fine Congressman if they let me.  Will happily answer any questions about the car in the section below.  Small crack in two plastic ground effects.   Have replacements, can be seen below.  Got them in a junk yard years ago when you could still find these cars.  There is one other concern however.  There is a noise under the hood  recently.  It might be a lifter, not a bid deal, but I did just brag up the low mileage engine.  Or it could be a bearing in the water pump, or maybe the alternator?  Now that the car is for sale, I guess I better take it down to Dan (the same guy who put the engine in, and who's restored hundreds of cars) and get a 2nd opinion.  If this wacky auction finally gets the much needed attention  my campaign deserves, perhaps the Vo-Tech school in Mays Landing wouldn't mind reaching out to me and get in on the action.  I'll drive the car over, it's registered and insured.  I've had a lot of cars over the years.  This one has "soul," .....  and it runs great.  Just a little noise under the hood- nothing to worry about.

Ky. champion ham fetches $1.6 million for charity

The Associated Press 2:07 PM Thursday, August 26, 2010

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Start baking those biscuits and stirring that red-eye gravy. Two donors have pledged a record $1.6 million for Kentucky's grand champion country ham.

That works out to about $100,000 a pound for 16 pounds of Kentucky's favorite cured meat.

The auction is the highlight of the Kentucky Farm Bureau's annual Kentucky Country Ham Breakfast at the state fair in Louisville.

This year's winning ham was produced by Broadbent B&B Foods of Kuttawa in western Kentucky.

Bernard Trager, chairman of Republic Bank and Trust, and Dr. Mark Lynn & Associates, owner of Dr. Bizer's Vision World, contributed $800,000 each Thursday for the ham.

The money — and the meat — will go to local charities.......
